The process started with gathering the right documents. I also wrote a simple travel itinerary outlining where I planned to stay and what I wanted to see.

I applied online, filled out the forms carefully, uploaded my documents, and paid the application fee. After that, I received an email asking me to go give my biometrics—fingerprints and a photo—at a nearby visa application center.
